Microsoft Services helps customers with the implementation of Office products. They inspire, help customers through their digital journey. They search for the specific value of technology per customer, so everyone makes optimal use of the available IT resources. These Microsoft employees are product ambassadors. In order to be able to fulfil this role properly, they must, of course, make effective use of the Office products themselves.
You practice what you preach, right? This turned out to be not quite the case within Microsoft Services. There was plenty of tool knowledge, but the effective use of Microsoft Teams, to collaborate, could be improved. Employees were well aware of the functionalities of Teams, but common work routines could still grow. Microsoft Services called in our help to improve communication and collaboration within Microsoft Teams.
In order to improve productivity both on a team level and on an individual level, we have drawn up a plan that included the following steps:
- Creating insight into the current situation
- Improve individual skills
- Enabling easy collaboration
To create insight into the current situation we used the Digital Productivity Scan; the scan was the starting point for actively stimulating behaviour to embrace Rituals and Modules. Based on the outcomes of the scan we determined digital policies and desired working routines. And started the discussion – fact based – on how to get employees engaged. The change management drivers within the scan optimized the change management route and plan.
The aim of this plan was to create one way of working together and to achieve higher individual productivity. In order to change the perspective of Microsoft employees, we mapped out preferences – individual versus collaborative. When is it useful to let go of your personal preferences in favour of efficient collaboration? We made clear agreements. In addition, our trainers started to coach individually and gave personal tips & tricks for better individual effectiveness.
Because of the Digital Productivity scan we were able to pinpoint exactly where the opening for real change was and have our trainers focus on these topics. Result; as early as IN the training, employees became so enthusiastic that they immediately changed their own digital behaviour. WhatsApping and emailing is a thing of the past, Microsoft Teams is the way to go. By making clear agreements, new digital behaviour is created. With their own personal (change-) stories, these enthusiastic employees are now the ultimate ambassadors to help others effectively through their digital journey.
